PRA 2009 is organised by Petrochemical Industry Club, The Federation of Thai Industries, which expect the participants of more than 200 companies from around the Asia Pacific region. Beyond the fuel that the general public associates with oil, there are more than 4,000 products that are derived and made from petroleum. From artificial limbs to medical supplies and equipment, from textiles such as polyester and nylon to the computers, credit cards, phones and even food and agricultural processes that people take for granted, petrochemicals permeate every facet of modern life.
